어머니를 기어코 바꾸어야 내가 내 할 일을 다 하는 것은 아니겠다

내가 어머니의 가르침을 제대로 평가하기 위해 내가 어머님의 가르침을 더 깊게 살아볼 필요를 느꼈다. 내가 농가에서에서 얘기했던 세익스피어의 리처드 3세 희곡 얘기를 다시 든다. 거기서 앤 여인분처럼 미덕을 행하려다 가증스러운 여인이 되어버리는 것을 막기 위해 난 무엇을 기억해야 하는 걸까 내가 어머니를 무조건 좋아하며 잘해드린다면 여기서의 앤과 다를 바 없는 인물이 된다. 그렇다면 내가 이 경향이 있는 것은 내가 무엇을 기억하고 깊게 염두해두어야 하기 때문인가 내가 무엇을 염두해두지 않기에 난 자꾸 이런 아부성이 다분히 있다고 보아야 할 사람을 좋아하려는 함정에 빠져 들어가는 것일까 어머니의 가르침을 살아본다면 돈에 대해 생각해볼 필요를 느낀다. 어머니는 아버지께 오늘 화를 내신 것이 몰래 나에게 돈을 ..

고민되는 말들
